Student’s laziness… isn’t it?
When teachers do not check the class attendance most of the students will be tempted to skip classes. When teachers introduce activities (specially online activities) students tend to relax and feel so loose to a point that they become dumb and irresponsible.
- Isn’t it because they are not ready for things like these?
- Is it because they are just LAZY?
- Is it because they feel that this subject is less important?
- Isn’t it because they don’t feel any pressure at all?
- Or they are just being irresponsible and pretend as if they know what they are doing believing that it is the right thing?
I am just wondering. I have heard many comments from students blaming their teachers for their failures and misadventures. It is not fair specially if almost all things have been laid out from the 1st part of the semester to make things clear enough for students to just simply comply. What do students want? Do they want teachers to just open their heads and pour out all information leaving them nothing to do but to just absorb it without even internalizing it?
Come on! Bring it on and squeeze all the creative juices you have. Act as an adult learner (even if you still feel young at heart)… Be responsible of your own learning… Be an active learner… Learn how to learn.

I think it goes to 5, then believes at 3, then felt like 2, then feeling more like 4.
Hhmmm… thanks mon. All of the above I should say…
sir, im among those students who didn’t satisfy what is expected from us…but putting aside the adviser-studnt relationship, their are alot to to consider in these situations.. on my part.. starting an online discussion is not that easy to facilitate, since it requires cooperations for all the members in the group… but well, all we need is time to adopt on this kind of discussion..tnx n godbless
the mode of delivery is not that important what is important is that you know that you have something to accomplish and there’s no excuse that you can’t do it because it’s clearly stated in the learning guide (course outline).just read, comprehend and follow what is expected of you and you will see that it is easy because everything is clear. thanks anyway…
murag niinit imong ulo ana sir ah… hehe
hmmm… the students are ready for online discussions sir. why would we take up IT/CS if
we are not ready for these things. Students are just lazy and being lazy is being irresponsible. Most of the time we pretend that what we are doing is right even though it’s
not. We know the subjects are important and we feel the pressure sir, but when a student
feels so much pressure he/she tends to look for ways to relax, but most of the time we relax too much and eventually forget the importance of the subject. Laziness is one of the reason why many of us could not graduate in usep. Take me for example, If only I used my spare time studying instead of going to bars/malling, participating in class instead of thinking about what game should i play after class. “Dapat sana graduate na ako years ago pa”. What’s done is done, all I can do is to try to correct the mistakes I’ve done before. We committed the mistake, We became irresponsible and the easiest way to tell our parents the we failed is to tell them that it is our teachers fault that we failed the subject. Pinaka common na line ng student kapag bagsak “Ma, nabagsak ko, si sir _______ man gud mamagsakay kaau, daghan gani kaau mi nabagsak 2ngod niya”, o diba instant dahilan di pa jud ka kasab.an sa imo parents, sala gud daw sa professors. IC teachers gave the students enough chances for them to change but still we remained lazy and irresponsible. hmm.. thats all i can say sir…god bless.

am quite amused readin’ all the comments, well atleast, they tend to be active on blogs lol.
anyway, sir, i think am 2 and 4 combined… if i don’t feel pressured, i tend to be lazy. i did failed once, its because am pretty lazy waking up early… but not anymore :). with my current job, you need to be there 10 mins before the time, otherwise, you will get a memo and all sorts of suspension and salded… great motivation i had to say, ahahah :D.
yeah, being an instructor for two years made me realize how it is to become an instructor. student laziness is one of the leading causes why students fail.
