Back to FOSS…
I just got my new 160GB HDD for my old but priceless laptop. Immediately after, I installed it and got my Rescue CD from Toshiba to run (something like ghost to replicate everything and start anew). However, because it’s using the ghost replication it created a single participation similar to the old one but this time only 1 partition for the entire disk. That’s bad… after a couple of hours installing/uninstalling the stock software I got tired of looking for pirated installers (which I don’t have in my possession since I shifted to FOSS). So I ended up, installing 8.04 (Ubuntu) in my laptop and the same as my OS before I easily get used to it and it’s very nice and sweet… Lovely…
Nevertheless, I missed my 7.10 because most of the things that I need I already had it in my 7.10. There were many third party applications and addons that I already installed which I expected to be present in 8.04 but to my dismay… it’s not there.
Anyway, this is just my 1st run with 8.04 and I am pretty sure that I will also love this the same as the 7.10 I had before. Many improvements but I have yet to discover almost everything… Will let you know soon.
Cheers…

We are on our final day here in an elementary school in Tagum City where we introduced an alternative delivery model for teachers of the following topics: Multiple Intelligences and Higher Order Thinking Skills, which might be of great help to them. We have developed an electronic module for this topic to be rolled out in a CD-ROM (offline) version for training programs for the Basic Education sector.

With reference to the previous post, I have added more pics and this time… our
summer getaway (though not so far away… as in getaway). Pics are not so good but it takes more effort to shoot using a consumer (point&shoot) camera compared to using an SLR :). Anyway, have fun…

My lovely wife and my baby Vernon.

It’s our 1st day of the eLearning Delivery Training of Trainers program here in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato. This is part of our roll-out activities for our existing e-learning modules in the Mindanao eLearning Space (MiSpace) for DepEd. We have a total of 12 CD-ROM based e-learning modules developed by our group MiSpace. Most of our target clients for our production and delivery are teachers, school heads and school managers. Good thing is we have the support of DepEd in Regions XI and XII and we are very lucky that we have the Basic Education Assistance for Mindanao and the University of Southeastern Philippines as our backbone.
That’s it for now… time to prepare for tomorrows activities.
Cheers
