Virus Attack
It’s been a week that workstations in our office are infected with lotsa virus. Number one in the list is the virus named Imaut.AA as detected by Symantec AV. It has lurked our small network and infected every M$ computers. Good thing I have Ubuntu in my laptop and no matter what virus we have in the network I am pretty sure that I will not be affected.
Most of our staff are complaining that it significantly slows down their computers and sometimes they cannot access network resources. I told them just be careful and keep a backup of everything. But we have almost 160GB of data on our server, for quite some time we have been using the backup utility of M$ and since viruses are greatly affecting our computers we can’t do it properly the same as we did last time. With that, I am to have automated diff or incremental backup using Ubuntu in one of our workstations. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Also, again I will be advocating for the migration to Ubuntu and FOSS apps so that we can get rid of this virus thing. I will let u know, if I can convince them soon.
