Ubuntu Rocks in SFD
Last September 15 we celebrated the Software Freedom Day in USEP. I was very surprised seeing volunteers all reved up ready for the big event that they have organized. Wheeww!!! it’s really amazing to see volunteers working for a cause… that is to promote Free and Open Source Software. Thanks to USEP FOSS Club…
Just this morning, I checked the pics on my mobile and was able to push it on my laptop… Thanks to Bluetooth File Sharing 0.8.0 by Edd Dumbill it really helped me push files from any BT device to my laptop. And if I wan’t to do it the other way around I have OBEX Bluetooth Client with me who is also a very powerful tool (for KDE and also for GNOME) if you have bluetooth in your box.
Going back to the SFD, below is a photo showing Chip with a bunch of students flocking around him as he gives demo to participants (mostly students) of the SFD. Way to go Chip, show them what you’ve got from Ubuntu
I know you have had a wonderful experience with it which is worth sharing for.
Oh I remembered, I was the one who gave a short talk about Ubuntu Desktop. And I can vividly remember that this girl in the middle won the prize for the “freebies” question during my talk… “What do you mean by Ubuntu?”… which she answered, “Humanity to others…”… You got it right!!!
NOTE: This topic is a bit outdated… Nevertheless, it’s worth sharing :)…
