Software Woes

As far as my experience is concerned most of the time when somebody would like to try out a software he normally download free versions (freeware, evaluation copy, etc.) or look for its equivalent or derivative. Moreover, when the software is found to meet the users needs, a few things normally happen these are:

  • Look for a copy of the software in p2p wares (limewire, emule, etc.). And to put icing on the cake professional or enterprise edition is mostly the choice.
  • Try to look for the software in torrent repos and again look for unlimited (Pro & Enterprise) versions.
  • Look for crack or keygen of the software.

Well, these are common to most users who want to use the software without even considering spending even a cent for it. Most of the time, I believe these are the common causes of software piracy.

What about you, what do you normally do? Have you tried looking at mature free and open source software equivalent of the software that you are looking for?
